School Governor Vacancy

Are you passionate about supporting your local community?

Do you believe all children deserve the best experiences to support them to achieve?

If yes, why not volunteer with us as a Co-opted Governor?

Our OUTSTANDING nursery currently has a vacancy for a Co-opted Governor to join our enthusiastic and forward-thinking Governing Body.

Governors are strategic leaders within schools and have a vital role in making sure every child gets the best possible education.

     Governing bodies have a strong focus on three core functions:

  • To ensure that the school has a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • To hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
  • To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Our Governing Body currently meet once a month, except for April and December. As Governor you would attend these meetings, having read the information shared before and be ready to ask questions and find out more. Visits to the schools also form part of the monitoring role and some Governors have individual special responsibilities.

No one Governor is expected to know it all and we work together as a team to support one another, bringing our own strengths and areas of interest. Our shared skill is our commitment and interest in our children’s futures and achieving the best for all.

Being a school governor is a very rewarding volunteer role that affords you the knowledge that you are giving back something to the local community. It offers great opportunity for personal development and learning new transferrable skills.

No experience necessary, just the desire to learn! Full induction and training package is offered
