From the Headteacher...

I believe I am very lucky to be the Headteacher of this wonderful Nursery School. We are a fully inclusive, welcoming, nurturing nursery that provides excellent care for all our children. Our Nursery School and Day-care Provision, have both been rated to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, and we are very proud of the care and learning opportunities we provide to our children. We are committed to providing a supportive and encouraging environment, where opportunities are offered to challenge and inspire children through learning that is irresistible, exciting, accessible, meaningful and fun. A day in the life of a ‘Haven child’ is bursting with a wide range of exciting learning opportunities. We strive at all times to provide the highest level of care through all aspects of our provision.

Our centre is open 7.45am - 6pm, 51 weeks a year for the children. Our parent funded full day-care provision for 0-3 year olds is provided in the ‘Nest’ (0-2 years approximately) and the 'Den' (2-3 years approximately). We are also able to offer 2 year funded places for 15 hours per week for eligible families. Our fully inclusive Local Authority Maintained Nursery School provides 140 part-time places for children aged 3 to 4 years in 'The Hive'. We also have a resourced provision onsite, which is flexibly accessed by some of our children with social communication difficulties.

The Government currently funds 15 hours per week of nursery education for all children, or 30 hours for eligible children, from the term after their 3rd birthday. These hours are available either term time only or all year round as part of our ‘stretched offer’. Additional, (chargeable) hours are available to provide full day care options for parents/carers above their free entitlement. Children can attend on a range of patterns. Please see our Terms and Conditions and Fee pages for more details.

We are also a SEND Hub and currently offer 28 part time places for children with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. These places are allocated by the Local Authority. Please see our Support for SEND page for more details.

If you would like to see our Nursery School for yourself, please contact the school office and make an appointment to come and meet us all. We would be delighted to meet you!
