COVID-19 Letter to Parents

Dear Parents and Carers,

In the light of many Government updates over the weekend with regard to Coronavirus, I would like to reassure you that we are doing all we can to keep your family safe at Haven Nursery.

At the time of writing we have no known cases of Coronavirus.

I receive a Public Health update daily which, as of today, is still advising that we are still in the “Delay” stage of the Government action plan.

Headteachers are meeting with the Department for Education today, which will provide clarity on school closures. Until such time as I am directed to close; Haven will remain open.

As our children are so young; although we are doing all we can to encourage them to be independent, we are also taking steps to protect them as far as possible by;

  • Ensuring they are offered support with handwashing and nose-blowing
  • Teaching them about how to wash their hands properly
  • Providing soap

All adults in our setting are doing extra handwashing; including when arriving on site and supporting with food hygiene at meal times. They are also supporting the cleaning teams by doing routine cleaning in order that cleaning staff have more time to “deep clean” hygiene and meal rooms.

If a child suddenly becomes unwell with a high fever, we will contact you immediately. We will then isolate the child with a member of staff until you are able to collect them. Due to the seriousness of the current situation I would ask that you do come and collect them as soon as you can, or send a nominated adult to collect them in your place.

If your child is unwell at home with any of the symptoms listed on the link above, please do not send them into Nursery. If you are ill with any of the symptoms listed, we would ask that you do not send your child into Nursery until you are sure they are not at risk of developing the virus. As we have over 200 children and their families accessing our setting, we would ask you to help us try to stop the virus from spreading.

If we are advised to close Haven Nursery we will let you know by text or email. We will also put regular updates on our website https://www.haven-sch.org/  Please ensure that our admin team are kept up to date with your contact details in order for us to keep you fully informed.

I would like to thank you all for your support during what I appreciate is an anxious time for you all.

Kind regards

Lisa Holmes

Seconded Headteacher
